Annang Festival of Arts and Culture (AFAC)

Annang Heritage Preservation Inc. (AHPI), organized the first ever Annang Festival of  Arts and Culture (AFAC), the celebration of Annang heritage in the entire 8 local government area that make up Annang clan, however the major event is scheduled to take place at the popular ancient city & the first local government area in Nigeria, IKOT-EKPENE, The RAFFIA CITY and capital of Annang people from 12th  – 19th  of December, 2016.  

AFAC is parked with numerous events, aimed to stress on the importance of Annang arts and cultures and further leverage the untapped potentials of Annang cultural heritage. Features of the event are but not limited to Cultural Carnival, Masquerade display, Utue ekpe, Uta, Ajor, Ikara, Udughe (traditional wrestling), Mbobo, Arts and Craft Exhibitions, and Seminar. 

Annang women who are skilled in cooking will have the opportunity to display their God given culinary skills for the world to see. If you are an Annang woman or from Akwa Ibom State and believe you have what it takes to cook for the world to eat, you can contact the AFAC team for a space at the event venue. 

AFAC expects to host over 10,000 people daily, it’s an event that is not just for the Annang people only but it has so much tourism potential and can attract tourist to Akwa Ibom State in general.  Plan to attend with your family, see the true culture of the people first hand.
